Our Physical Space
|
In June 2006, we committed our resources, took out loans,
and in October started construction. We created a space
where we teach meditation, provide continuing education for
licensed professionals, and practice mindfulness psychotherapy.
We can accommodate 30 people comfortably, but we restrict our
classes and workshops to 16 to assure adequate attention and
exploration of each student?s meditation experience.
We removed several walls, relocated the front door, retrofitted
windows, added sound dampening materials, installed central air,
and changed the primary lighting to pleasant reflective wall sconces.
Our AV system enables us to make digital recordings of events
as well as play CDs and DVDs. We have internet access and eventually
will be able to do real-time video streaming.
In February 2007, we started teaching classes,
leading retreats and workshops, and hosting meditation groups.
In October 2007, we launched our Continuing Education Program
for licensed professionals. We offer evening and Saturday workshops, an evening
multi-week class sequence, and starting in February we will offer mid-day
groups and classes for psychotherapists.
