Watermelons and Zen students
grow pretty much the same way.
Long periods of sitting
till they ripen and grow
all juicy inside, but
when you knock them on the head
to see if they are ready –
sounds like nothing’s going on.

Therapist Support Group

Our support group meets weekly.

Our focus is to support participants in our work as therapists during the pandemic. It is our intention that we attend to our personal experience and pandemic related challenges with our clients, emphasizing affective processing and adaptive selfcare.

These are intensely stressful times. Many of us and many of our clients experience symptoms that Irvin Yalom describes as fueled by “death anxiety.” Our country, our families and our psyches are in the midst of existential crises. Social connection becomes that which we crave yet must avoid.

This ongoing drop-in support group is not a therapy group. It offers a safe, calm, supportive environment to share feelings, make connection with others and share hope for the future. Join us for all or part of any group session.
